Kumarganj College was established in 2016, under the University of GourBanga.The Department of Economics was established on 30 May in 2016. Faculty and staff strength at the Department currently comprises 2 sanctioned teaching posts (Assistant Professors). The current intake capacity (students) of degree courses at the Department is 25 for Minor(Pass) and 30 for MDC students. The department of Economics has offered qualitative education to all students and providesexcellence teaching. Remedial teaching, student counseling and tutorial class to help weaker students to frame answers to assignments and develop writing skills.
i) The Department’s teaching mission is to offer undergraduate degree program with emphasis on the relationship of the theory to practice.
ii) To prepare our UG students for PG in Economics, Law and business administration
iii) To prepare students for acquiring applied knowledge of economics to enhance their employability and entrepreneurship.
